Copyright Policy
Last updated: Aug 26, 2024
At Streamify, we're committed to fostering creativity while respecting intellectual property rights. This policy outlines our approach to copyright protection and our compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Our Commitment
- We respect copyright: Streamify is designed for sharing original content. We expect our users to do the same.
- We act swiftly: When we receive valid copyright complaints, we move quickly to address them.
- We protect our users: We guard against false claims and provide a clear process for counter-notifications.
Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe your copyright-protected work has been posted on Streamify without authorization, let us know. We've made it simple:
Option 1: Use Our Copyright Notice Tool
- Look for the "Report Copyright Infringement" button on this page
- Click the button to access our easy-to-use copyright notice form
- Fill out the form with all required details
- Submit and we'll get on it
Option 2: Email Our Copyright Team
Send an email to abuse@streamify.to with the following:
- Your contact information
- A description of your copyrighted work
- The location of the infringing content on Streamify
- A statement of good faith belief in the infringement
- A statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury
- Your electronic or physical signature
What Happens Next?
When we receive a valid notice:
- We'll process the complaint within 24 hours
- We'll remove the infringing content promptly
- We'll notify the user who posted it
- We'll give them a chance to submit a counter-notice
Once the content is removed:
- The copyright owner will receive an email confirmation
- The video page will display a 404 error
- The 404 page will indicate that the content was removed due to a copyright claim
- The page will display the name of the copyright owner, their agent, or simply "copyright owner" based on the preference indicated in the complaint
Transparency in Copyright Enforcement
At Streamify, we believe in transparency when it comes to content removals. To that end:
- We submit reports of all resolved copyright abuse cases to the Lumen Database on a weekly basis
- These reports help researchers and the public understand how copyright law is enforced online
- The information submitted includes:
- Links to the deleted content
- Information about the copyright owner
- The nature of the copyright claim
- No personal information of users is included in these reports
You can find these reports by searching for Streamify on the Lumen Database website.
This practice allows for public accountability and contributes to broader discussions about online copyright enforcement, all while maintaining user privacy.
Counter-Notices
Think your content was removed by mistake? You can submit a counter-notice to abuse@streamify.to. Include:
- Your contact information
- Identification of the removed content
- A statement under penalty of perjury about why the removal was a mistake
- Your consent to local federal court jurisdiction
- Your electronic or physical signature
Repeat Infringers
We reserve the right to terminate the account of any user who, in our sole discretion, is determined to be a repeat infringer of copyrights. This approach allows us to address serious cases of repeated copyright infringement while considering the specific circumstances of each situation.
A Note on False Claims
Submitting false copyright claims is a serious matter. It can result in account termination and legal consequences.
